Our Story

How It All Began

Park Ups and Pub Stops began back in December 2022, during one of our motorhome trips to Brecon in Wales. We were parked up in Dilys, our motorhome, enjoying the freedom of life on the road with our two cockapoos Bella & Lottie when a simple idea began to take shape.

At the time we were always searching for new places to stop – from welcoming pubs and peaceful park ups to those little hidden gems you only seem to discover through word of mouth. We thought wouldn’t it be great if there was one freindly community where people could share these places with each other?

So, in December 2022, Park Ups and Pub Stops was born. What started as a simple Facebook group soon became something far bigger than we ever imagined. Within six months, around 30,000 people had joined us, and by the end of our first year the community had grown to around 50,000 members.

Today, Park Ups and Pub Stops has grown into a community of over 150,000 members, all brought together by a shared love of motorhome and campervan travel, discovering new places and supporting the local businesses and communities we meet along the way.

Life on the Road

For us, motorhome travel has always been about far more than simply getting from one place to another. It’s about the freedom to explore, finding beautiful places we might otherwise never have discovered, meeting people along the way and enjoying the simple things – preferably with a good view and Bella & Lottie never too far from our side.

Dilys has become our home from home and has taken us on countless adventures around the UK and Europe. Whether we’re beside the coast, overlooking a lake, tucked away at a peaceful park up or spending the night at a welcoming pub stop, it’s those experiences that continue to inspire everything we’re creating with Park Ups and Pub Stops.

Our Community

What began as a simple idea has grown into an incredible community of motorhome and campervan owners, all sharing the same love of discovering new places, enjoying life on the road and helping one another along the way.

Over the years, the group has become about much more than simply finding somewhere to park for the night. It’s a place where people share their experiences, recommend places they’ve loved, ask for advice and help others discover somewhere new. That sense of community is at the heart of everything we do.

Looking Ahead

The Park Ups and Pub Stops website is the next chapter in our journey. We want to create a trusted, easy-to-use place where motorhome and campervan owners can discover verified places to stop, find welcoming local businesses and have the information they need before setting off.

Just as importantly, we want the website to help support the pubs, cafés, farm shops, attractions and other independent businesses that make our travels so memorable. By connecting our community with the places that welcome us, we hope everyone benefits.

We’re incredibly proud of how far Park Ups and Pub Stops has come, but for us the heart of it will always remain the same — sharing great places, travelling responsibly, supporting local businesses and enjoying the journey together.
